FUNDRAISING
Most often, children
and adolescents who experience problems while growing up also experience
problems at home, in school, and often in the community. However, with
assistance from professional staff who are trained to help families,
situations can change and problems can be reversed. Both children and
adolescents (as well as other family members) can begin to take
responsibility for their behaviour, can learn how to express their
feelings and by so doing, issues can begin to change and problems can be
alleviated.
Fund
raising is a critical part of each centre's responsibility and
development. Government resources have never been enough to service all of
the families that need help. With additional assistance, more children/
adolescents and families can be helped. Prevention of problems has always
been perceived as both more productive, and less expensive than more
intrusive treatments which must be used when the problems become more
severe. Money which comes from fund raising allows the Agency to be more
preventative, to assist more families, and contribute to making our
communities safer for all.
